Phone number ☎️ 02678951247 👆 is reported as a persistent scam involving automated calls impersonating HMRC, threatening legal action or arrest warrants. Callers often use foreign accents and refuse to provide verifiable details, pressuring recipients to respond by pressing numbers. The messages claim lawsuits or court proceedings, but HMRC does not make such contact via phone. Many describe calls targeting vulnerable or elderly individuals, causing distress. Callers frequently hang up when challenged and use software to spoof caller IDs, making tracing difficult. The scam also appears under different pretences including broadband or internet issues. Recipients consistently warn others about the fraudulent nature, confirming no legitimate connection to HMRC and advising caution. The calls have been reported repeatedly over various times of day with the same threatening tactics.

8 yearsToday, at around 11am on the 26th of July, I had a call from someone claiming to be an HMRC officer. He said his name was Roger Williams, but had a really strong Indian accent that seemed off. When I asked what he wanted, he got annoyed because I wouldn’t give my name and then started threatening I’ll be deported. Then he just hung up on me! Honestly, couldn't help but laugh at how daft he sounded. What do they even want with me, I wonder?HMRCRoger Williams8 yearsGot the same kind of scam call again, it was one of those robotic messages saying I was being sued by HMRC.HMRC8 yearsThat phone number 02678 951247 definitely belongs to some dodgy folks. Stay clear of it!8 yearsJust like loads of others have said, I ended up blocking the number, really the only thing you can do. The phone providers are powerless because these guys use some kind of software to spoof their caller ID, making it impossible to track them down. So in the end, all providers do is block that fake number too, which doesn't really solve the problem.8 yearsToday at about 3.45pm BST my mum got a dodgy call, but luckily she’s got an answerphone set up so she didn’t fall for it. The caller used some odd legal jargon talking about a "lawsuit" and said to press 1 to chat with an advisor. I used my phone to check the number with 1471 but when I rang back it didn’t connect. Felt really fishy - HMRC never ring directly like that!HMRC8 yearsGot a call at 16.37 today from 02678951247, saying HMRC is suing me just like all the other calls I've had. Definitely a scam in my book.HMRC8 yearsThis numpty has called me two times in less than an hour. I'd bet my bottom dollar the phone companies and government could trace who this belongs to and lock them up for conning people. It’s absolutely disgraceful to be told you've got some HMRC scam on you when it's completely not true. I wouldn't be surprised if it’s coming from Nigeria again, the source of so many of these scams.HMRCNigeria8 years02678951247 Honestly, these individuals are the worst.8 yearsGot this number 02678951247 leaving a robotic message on my answerphone saying something about HMRC taking legal action. If anyone else gets a call like this, I’d say just ignore it.
