On 8th January 2018, at about 11:30 in the morning, a call came from 0254875689. I answered by saying hello, but then the line just went dead.

That’s the only information associated with this number on my device. An individual with an accent, possibly Asian, insisted that we disconnect our internet and proceed as he instructed to fix an issue with our internet connection. My wife ended up cutting the call, only for that very same number to ring us back immediately. This time, we didn’t pick up, and the call went to the answering machine.

I've been receiving calls from the number 02548 996357. I answer with a "hello" and hang around in silence for about five seconds, then repeat "hello". To my surprise, a British-sounding voice responds with a simple "goodbye". This has become a bit of a pattern, as we've experienced roughly five or six of these calls over the last half a year. Today, curiosity got the better of us and we decided to use 1471 to trace the caller, although prior experiences led us to believe that such nuisance calls would typically be concealed from that service.

I received a call today from an Asian gentleman, claiming he could put an end to pesky nuisance calls forever. It was quite evident that he was calling from a call centre. He had my name and address on hand, which raised a few red flags. He informed me that for a single payment of £59, I could supposedly rid myself of these bothersome calls for good. He mentioned he was representing something called The Call Prevention Service, based at 27 Old Gloucester Street, London WC1N 3AX, and provided a contact number: 0800 086 9345. His name was apparently Jason. When he inquired about my preferred method of payment and asked for my debit or credit card details, I politely declined and ended the conversation. However, he called back. My husband answered on that occasion, and a row ensued, resulting in them both hanging up. Not long after, the man rang again and rudely told my husband to f*** off.

I recently encountered a rather distressing situation with the phone number 02548996357. An Asian gentleman has been persistently bombarding my elderly mother with calls at all hours, oddly requesting her postal code and utility account details. On multiple occasions, he has even threatened to disconnect her services. During one of these calls, while I was visiting her, he abruptly refused to speak upon hearing my voice. I made it clear that I'd involve the authorities if he didn't cease his harassment, to which he promptly ended the call.
