They claimed to be from the FCA about a PPI claim, saying someone would visit my house with a cheque for over £3,750, but I’d need to give them £375 in cash first. Then I got transferred to a manager who said the person would ring me with the cheque and I’d hand over the cash at that time. I told them the call was being recorded, and they quickly hung up. It’s definitely a scam - just mention the recording and don’t let them speak first. The number they called from was 0203477014.

Honestly, I’m fed up with getting loads of these all the time, especially this week I reckon I had about 40 calls. I finally snapped and told her where to go! When you’re dealing with a bereavement and a close family member battling cancer, this kind of hassle is the last thing you need.

Had a call from this Indian lady saying I’d get £3750 back from some PPI claim but needed to cough up £375 first. I played dumb, made up a random birth date and address, and just dragged the call out till she lost interest and ended it!

Got a call from a lady named Eva claiming someone was on their way to drop off £3,750 for my PPI. She asked me to confirm my postcode and address, then tried to verify my birthdate but got it completely wrong. When I didn’t react, she just went quiet then ended the call. No sign of any money, obviously. Bit of a letdown, haha.

Some woman named "Rose Wood" rang me up, speaking with a strong Indian accent, and said she was from the "Financial Connect Authority" or something like that. When I asked why her name didn't really fit, she just hung up straight away.

So, I've got caller ID and also use BT Call Guardian, so only calls from saved numbers get through to me. Somehow, this number still called. I decided to ring it back and was met with a recorded message from BT saying the number isn't recognised. Pretty strange!
