Honestly, only a fool would bother paying their water bill when you never agreed to any contract or terms. The fact there’s no way to challenge a bill for something like rainwater is proof enough that folks shouldn’t have to pay for nature. Those who cough up for their water and TV licence too, well, they’re not exactly the sharpest tools in the shed. They really ought to have a check-up for their mental health. My suggestion? Just block the number and carry on with your day. It's just a greedy cash grab and a total rip-off.

This number called me while I was away on holiday saying I owed money to Severn Trent. When I contacted Severn Trent after I got back, they had no clue what the caller meant and said my account was actually in credit! Then the same number called again, claiming I was in debt. I told them I didn’t owe anything and suspected it was a scam. The person just laughed and said they’d send me letters to “prove” it, then just hung up. Seriously, just phone Severn Trent directly and check your own account!
