I received a rather dodgy phone call that had all the hallmarks of a foreign call centre. They were touting some rather enticing offers on free calls - both local and international - as well as free weekend and evening calls, all in recognition of my loyalty and timely bill payments. However, when I asked them for my customer account number, they seemed unable to provide it. They also inquired about my date of birth. When I probed them about whether they were indeed representing 'Sky Telecom', there was a bit of a stammering response, "Um, y-yes". I took the opportunity to mention that I’m actually with a different provider and promptly ended the call. Clearly, this was a complete sham. (Just to clarify, I'm not suggesting that Sky Telecom is involved in any way - I merely used that name as a fictional example!)
