I got a call from a bloke who said his name was Tom and he was ringing from Shell Energy. He asked for me by name and then tried to see if he could offer a better deal. I told him I’m happy with my current deal and will check out options when it finishes!

Not sure who they were, but they kept asking for some bloke who's not me. I just hung up straight away. My phone had already got it blocked anyway. Honestly, best to just ignore these calls and chuck the number on your block list - it saves a lot of hassle later on.

someone called asking for a mrs, but when i said she’d passed away, the caller just said “no problem”. definitely sounded like a cold call or some kind of scam to me.

My phone picked up straight away that it was a dodgy number and cut the call off before it even rang. I’ve now blocked that one plus the following nine numbers in the same series. There really should be laws to crack down on these muppets, and the phone companies who let this stuff happen ought to face fines or something for letting these pests keep bothering people!
