The voice was awful and seemed like it had been recorded somehow. They left a message threatening arrest if I didn’t return the call. It’s clearly a scam, and my Samsung phone flagged the number as an extortion attempt. Rather than just blocking it, I used the reporting feature on my phone to get it reported properly.

I received a call from this number today, and they left a rather alarming voicemail. The message urged me to call them back straightaway, and the individual repeated the number at least twice. They went on to say that failure to respond would result in my arrest. I haven’t called back and don’t plan to. The voice was deep and definitely had a foreign inflection. Quite unsettling, really!

Just got a call from this number earlier. Some bloke named Jacob claiming he’s from CRA, telling me I owed £896 to HMRC and that there was an arrest warrant for me! I rang HMRC myself afterwards and they said it’s a total scam. Seriously, don’t answer or ring back!
