Got a robotic voicemail on my phone on 10th Jan, claiming to be from HMRC. It said to ring back straight away and talk to a case officer named Dennis Gree, warning me not to ignore it. Since I'm actually sorting something with HMRC right now, I called back, only to find out they’d blocked me. Lucky break, as it turned out to be just another scam.

Hey, so I got a call on the 10th Jan from some automated voice claiming to be HMRC. It warned me not to ignore the message or I’d face some kind of consequences, though they never actually said what the consequences were before the message cut off. I only just got round to checking it today and when I tried ringing the number back, it was dead. Bit suspicious if you ask me.

It’s really upsetting, my sister in law picked up the phone and got told she had to pay £4000 right away or else they’d send a warrant for her arrest. She ended up borrowing the cash from her grandad, phoned the number back and handed over the money! They’re such a hardworking bunch with three little kids, they really don’t deserve to be treated like this.

This number left me a voicemail claiming to be from HMRC. When I rang back, a bloke with a strong accent said I was under investigation for dodging income tax. He got some of my info wrong, so I asked to talk to his supervisor and then he just ended the call. I’ve since informed both HMRC and the police because I foolishly handed over my National Insurance number before I realised it was a scam.

Got a message that said it was from HMRC, telling me to ring back a case worker. They said don’t ignore it or there’ll be serious consequences. What a joke that was! It’s crazy how these scammers pretend they’re official and try to scare people with threats. Best thing is just to block it and report it as spam by texting the number to 7726 for no cost. Got a call supposedly from HMRC saying there's an urgent matter to sort out straight away. They kept threatening I'd have to get my solicitor on the phone or I'd be in serious trouble legally. Total rubbish honestly, but I can see how someone not knowing better might get freaked out by it.

Just like a few others have mentioned, I got a call from someone saying they were Dennis Gray from HMRC. They told me it was urgent and that I had to ring them back or else there’d be trouble. Watch out if you do call back though, as the cost is 9p per minute from a landline and probably even higher from a mobile. Trust me, don’t bother calling back!
