I got a call from someone called Western Gaurdian, which was totally new to me - never came across it before. They were really eager about selling advertising space, quite aggressively actually, but I said no thanks nicely. I checked them out online at www.westerngaurdian.co.uk and if it’s a sham, they’ve gone to quite some effort!

Somebody said they were from the Western Guardian. This isn't the first time these clowns have rung me up, even after I've told them, quite clearly, to stop calling and sent a proper complaint email as well! They just don’t seem to get it.

Someone contacted me claiming they'd give me a spot in a classic Mercedes ad campaign. When I asked for proof they were for real, they started getting rude and told me I had a bad attitude. They insisted the ad was free, but yeah, right. Just a bunch of dodgy folk trying to trick people.

They told me I'd be featured as their local expert in their publication based on what I do. They wanted to put an editorial piece and an advert on page five for £82.00 plus VAT. Then out of nowhere, they said they'd cover the VAT themselves just to have me included in the mag! I ended up saying no thanks quite politely!

I got a call from some caravan magazine promising me at least six guaranteed viewings within a week. It sounded a bit too good to be true!

Somebody rang me claiming they’re with this so-called classic car mag called Marque Classic or summat. Told me they spotted my motor in an ad and wanted to write a feature on it. Said pages 3 and 6 can be booked for £39 plus vat and they promise to sell the car within five days of the issue coming out. Ha! The magazine isn’t even real!
