This number buzzes me pretty much twice every day. It’s so frustrating, especially when I’m expecting a real call. A couple of weeks ago, there was a similar one bothering me, but I put it on block. Now this one shows up and it’s almost the exact same, just the last three digits changed. I seriously can’t figure out what’s going on with these calls.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent, saying he wasn’t trying to sell me anything. He then started asking who my broadband and energy suppliers were, like it was some kind of survey. Felt like a total waste of time. There’s no way I’m sharing that kinda info with some random stranger. Plus, any proper company would have their website shown alongside their number on my phone, right? Definitely a scam if you ask me.

Twice this week I got calls from them and each time they asked if they were talking to someone else, not me. Then they said something like "hello, is that wrong name?" I told them no both times, and then they ended the call. It happened exactly the same way on both calls.

When I picked up, there was a brief pause before the caller spoke. The person had a foreign accent and thanked me for being the first one to actually talk to him today. He didn't mention what the call was about, just said it’d only take half a minute and I’d need to answer four easy questions. He started by confirming my name, got my surname right but mixed up my first name. That was the moment I decided to end the call. Pretty clear to me that it was some kind of scam.

I got a call from a bloke with a heavy Asian accent claiming he was ringing from some government advice office in Manchester. Thing is, the number showed up as from Coventry, which was a bit fishy. He said I had a refund to claim, something about bank fees. Asked me for my birth date to confirm my identity. I told him I wasn’t about to hand over any details, and if it was legit, they’d contact me by post, not on the phone.
