Got a robo call claiming to be from TalkTalk warning my internet would be cut off in 24 hours unless I hit 1. They kept ringing every few minutes non-stop for around 2 hours. So annoying!

Yesterday afternoon and again this morning at 8am, I got a call from a woman’s voice that sounded computer-generated, warning me my ET internet would be cut off in 24 hours. She said to press 1 if I wanted to talk to someone about it. I’m convinced it’s a scam, but I can see how some folks might fall for it and press 1, which could lead to trouble like losing money from their bank accounts or having their computer messed with, then being told they owe a big sum to get it sorted.

I think it was connected to O2 or something, all about cutting down the charges. The bloke had a thick accent, so it was hard to catch what he was saying. He seemed like he was trying to pitch me a deal better than my current one. I reckon he was surprised when I told him I wasn’t just on a SIM-only plan but actually had a full phone contract.

If someone rings me and just drops the call before my answerphone even gets a chance to start, let alone leaving a message, then they honestly don’t deserve me calling back. I won’t bother returning their call unless they’ve got the guts to first say sorry, and then explain why they were trying to reach me - in that exact order.
