Got a call about getting a refund for a washing machine warranty. Thing is, I never even bought a warranty in the first place. Definitely seems like one of those refund scams.

I got a call from a really courteous woman saying I’d overpaid on my washing machine cover. She wanted to know which account to send the refund to. I said I’d prefer a cheque or perhaps a credit note instead. She then said the offer was only good for that day and if I didn’t provide my bank info, she couldn’t go ahead. After about 20 minutes of her trying to convince me she was legit, she ended up cancelling my insurance and oddly said she hoped my washing machine would stop working.

This number just rang me up, and the person on the line claimed that £190 was wrongly taken from my bank account. Before they could finish, I told them to find a real job instead of bothering folks with scams. The caller hung up straight away.

Got a call from someone who sounded Indian, the connection was really poor and then they just dropped the call. Feels like one of those scams, like what others have mentioned here.

got a call on my home phone, which is ex-directory, from the number 02476019908. Apparently, it’s one of those refund scams. I don’t know who they are. The call just showed up on my landline around midday, about 12 o’clock.

Had a call from a lady called Margaret who spoke with a strong Asian accent, trying to tell me I was owed a refund for a washing machine repair. I asked her what brand the machine was, but she didn’t answer me directly and just kept saying it wasn’t about that machine at all. I wasn’t having any of it, told her to leave me alone and ended the call since she kept insisting I should get a refund. Proper strange, really!

Got a call from an Indian lady who said her name was Erika. She claimed she needed to return £119 that was supposedly taken from me by mistake for a washing machine warranty. I told her off, calling her an 'examiner' and told her where to go. Why won’t these scammers just come clean? Anyone with half a brain knows exactly what they’re up to.

Got a really odd call from some woman who barely spoke English properly and was quite rude. Definite scam, no proper chat at all, just felt like a dodgy call.

I’ve been receiving persistent calls from this number on my home phone, even though I'm registered with the TPS. I don’t have any connections with Domestic & General for my appliances-or with anyone else for that matter. They keep pestering me, and when I explain that I’m not a customer, they cheekily claim that’s the very reason they’re calling, stating it’s expired! What a bunch of cheeky blighters!

I’ve gotten about 4 or 5 calls from these lot now. First, an Indian woman called, then when I started asking for info, some Indian bloke took over. They had my name and an old address, claiming I’m owed £119 from a washing machine insurance overpayment! I asked for their contact number, website, and company name to verify, but then the call just dropped. Absolutely shocking behaviour!

Got a call from some home care people saying I was due a refund on my washing machine warranty. They had my name and address which was a bit worrying. Asked me for my bank details but couldn’t tell me anything about the machine or how much refund I was meant to get. The woman I spoke to, sounded Asian, got quite annoyed when I questioned her and just hung up. Pretty clear that was a scam!

Got a call about some £160 refund for a washing machine warranty I never bought. Seems like a refund scam to me, watch out!

So this woman kept going on about a £119 refund for my washing machine warranty. It’s always the same amount - £119 every time! I eventually told her off and ended the call. Then she phoned me again, asking how I thought I was behaving!! No way am I sharing what I said back.

Got a call earlier from some bloke with an Indian accent who said his name was Matthew, oddly enough, offering me a £119 refund on my washing machine warranty. He seemed to know my name and where I lived, which was a bit creepy. I let him go on for a bit, then told him flat out I wasn’t about to share my bank information and ended the call. Haven’t heard a peep from him since.

Got a ring on my home phone from a lady with a weird accent claiming I’m owed money back on a washing machine warranty. Pretty sure it’s a scam since I’ve never bothered with those appliance warranties. What creeped me out the most was that even though I’ve been ex-directory ages, she still knew my name. Bet she’d have asked for my bank info if I’d stayed on the line. Proper dodgy!

I was informed that I’d be getting a refund for a repair on my washing machine, supposedly covered by a Domestic and General warranty. However, I haven’t purchased any policy like that, which makes me suspect it might be a scam. The call was of very poor quality, and the accent sounded distinctly Asian, leading me to believe it’s an overseas operation.

I got a call from an Asian woman about some sort of washing machine refund of £199. I told her fine, send it over. But then she said it had to be through a bank transfer and needed my bank details to give me the money back. I asked why not just send a cheque, and she said it would take too long. I said I didn’t mind waiting for the normal monthly cheque run. She wasn’t pleased and said she’d call me back later. Still no call from her. Honestly, people should find a proper, honest, legal job instead of this nonsense.

Got a call from some refund place claiming I was due cash back on a washing machine warranty. They somehow had my full name and address, which made me uneasy. They kept saying I bought a new washer last year and that they needed my bank info. I ended the call pretty quick. Then they rang back immediately! The bloke on the phone spoke so quietly and was hard to understand, and whenever I asked his company name, he just mumbled it and I couldn’t make it out. Total scam if you ask me.

Someone rang me up claiming I was owed £118 on my washing machine warranty. I instantly knew it sounded dodgy, but I almost got caught because I’m actually expecting £100 back from a new machine I bought recently. I reckon they must’ve grabbed my info when I registered the machine about a month ago, since the refund said it takes 28 days to process. The call came from a landline, number 02476019908.

Got a call from someone saying they're from Homecare, offering a refund for an appliance insurance we supposedly have. They even had our address and knew about a recent claim we'd made. Then they started asking for bank or credit card info to send over £190. They specifically asked for our Barclays account details, which was odd 'cause we don't even bank with Barclays. Definitely felt like a scam.

Not much to say here. I ignored the call and it kept coming back, ringing over and over. Looks like I made the right move!

Pretty sure this was a scam. They claimed I’d paid too much for my appliance warranty and said they'd send some documents. Then, they offered a refund directly into my bank account. Never ever give your details to these people. When I asked if they could send a cheque instead, they just cut me off. Clearly, their plan only works if you go along with their bank transfer lie.

Got a call from 02476019908 about some refund for an overpaid warranty from what sounded like a couple of years back. Thing is, we just got a brand new washing machine that isn’t even hooked up yet, so the whole story about a warranty two years old seems dodgy. They wanted me to give an account number to send the money straight away. Yeah, no thanks, sounds fishy if you ask me!

Got a call saying I was supposed to get £119 back for some home care on my washing machine - total scam straight away. I asked for the brand of the machine to check, but he couldn’t tell me. Someone rang me, claiming to be from homecare and told me I had overpaid for my washing machine insurance and was owed £119 back. But since the place I bought the machine from gave me an extended warranty, I figured this must be a scam.
