I received a rather unpleasant phone call from a chap who claimed that I had previously expressed interest in cheaper energy options. Well, who wouldn't want to save a few quid, eh? But the fact of the matter is, I have absolutely no recollection of filling anything out. As soon as I mentioned that I reside in a housing association property, he abruptly ended the call without so much as a polite word. It’s quite infuriating, really. Instead of a courteous explanation that his services were exclusively aimed at private homes, he simply cut me off as if I didn’t warrant any further dialogue. A bit of decency would have gone a long way! To me, he comes across as rather a cheeky blighter, only keen to pocket a commission without caring for folks like us in council housing.

A chap rang me up claiming he was checking in regarding an inquiry I’d put in ages ago about affordable energy. He mentioned that he represented a new company since the previous one had undergone some changes. I played along for a while, acting as if I was completely on board with what he was saying. He started asking about the number of bedrooms I had, and I kept him on his toes by saying I was renting out a whopping twelve-bedroom place privately, but he didn’t seem fazed at all. After a bit, I’d had enough and told him to bog off and quit wasting my time.
