There was utter silence on the other end as soon as I answered the call.

I came across this number flagged as a potential scam, but I foolishly decided to pick up anyway. Lesson learned! The caller claimed to be from EE, trying to lure me in with a tempting 45% reduction on my mobile plan. What a load of rubbish! Whatever you do, don’t give these con artists any of your banking info! I've now blocked the number!
