Got a call from a busy call centre, some bloke named Jordan and a few others with Asian accents. They kept asking to confirm my name and address even though they already knew it. He said he wasn’t trying to sell anything, then started asking about a “lifestyle” mortgage and some life insurance stuff, then randomly threw in a question about my washing machine brand!! I didn’t give him any info and he just hung up. Feels like the washing machine question was just a way to distract me from what he was really after.

I normally avoid picking up calls from unknown numbers. This bloke rang and started off by asking how my day was going and if I was alright. I chose not to reply straight away. Then I asked what organisation he was with but he dodged the question, saying he wasn’t trying to sell anything. Next, he wanted me to hear him out. I asked if the call was for my benefit or his own. He got a bit annoyed and pleaded for a chance to explain. I just ended the call.

I received a rather bizarre call regarding a supposed car crash I was allegedly involved in five months back, which I can assure you is complete rubbish! They claimed I could claim £2500 in compensation, but what a load of nonsense! I've never had any sort of accident in my life.

Got a call from an Indian lady who already knew our names, but as soon as I began asking questions, she just hung up. Strange really, who’s funding these calls and what’s the point? The number was blocked too. It’s 2022 FFS, and these things shouldn’t be happening, especially to older people like my mum. It’s just not right.
