**SCAM ALERT** Got a call this morning at 9:42am from 01274 221656. It looked like a local number but showed up as ‘Out of area’. The message was a recording claiming some money transfers were made from Amazon and other sites, then said to press 1 if I hadn’t approved these payments. Definitely dodgy!

I got this call with a robot voice telling me to press one for English and two for Chinese. Seems like they might’ve changed from the old scam where it was all just in Chinese, probably because loads of people didn’t get what was going on. Got a call from 024 7522 1656 claiming there was a £750 charge on my Visa card. They told me to press one, so I did, and ended up talking to a bloke with an accent who sounded like he was in a hectic market or shop with loads of people chatting in the background. He said he’d sent me a one-time password from Amazon. I didn’t trust it and hung up straight away. Then he phoned me back from a mobile, trying to say I must’ve seen the message. I flat out denied it and ended the call.

Absolutely annoying spam robocall again. First, I was getting tons of robocalls in Chinese with obviously fake mobile numbers, which I blocked and reported. Then they switched to robocalls about supposed undelivered Amazon packages, again from bogus numbers, also blocked and reported. Now, it’s this visa scam robocall coming through. Honestly, phone providers in the UK should have a way to block entire ranges of numbers linked to scammers. Even if it means banning entire phone networks that sell numbers to scammers or let them use their service, it would be worth it to stop this nonsense.
