Just got a call at work from some bloke who sounded all matey, asking specifically for me by name. He kept banging on about some past help I supposedly gave for sending kids’ books to schools. Thing is, I never did any of that, so I’m pretty sure it’s a dodgy scam. Before hanging up, he said he’d shoot me an email to jog my memory about the “support” I gave before.

I got a call from a bloke who spoke English and had a really cheerful tone, talking pretty quickly. He kept thanking me for helping out with some campaign to save kids. He even mentioned my name and address, saying he wanted to send a thank you letter or something. I told him not to bother wasting money on posting things, and he ended the call sharpish. Just to be clear, I never donated to his charity.

this number keeps calling and surprising me by knowing my name, i dont know how but they seem to think ive agreed to some education books contract, which is rubbish cuz ive been caught out like this before. the person calling didnt have any other details about me, was really pushy and wouldnt let me get a word in. ive blocked the number now, hope they leave me alone.
