9 yearsHad a call from BT with the same old excuse, telling me to get on my computer to fix something. Told them to do one straight away. The number they called from was 024490878758. When I ended the call, they rang back saying my internet would be cut off in an hour if I didn’t sort out some issue with my router online. My internet’s still working fine though. Total scam, just hung up on them.9 yearsGot a call from this number claiming my internet router was down. They told me to check the Play Store and type something in, but nothing showed up. Then they started asking about my bank details, like who my bank was. I said no to giving anything, but they insisted it wasn’t a scam and said they were from BT, even asking for my PIN. Proper dodgy, avoided it!Play StoreBT9 yearsGot a call telling me they were with BT, chatted about this fault we've been having. Since the fault's real, I was all ears at first. Then they started going on about being offline for 4 days and wanted to get into our PC. Nah mate, not happening. I just ended the call right there.BT9 yearsWhen I picked up the phone, there was this awkward pause before anyone talked, so I figured it was some automated random dialler. The caller never asked for me by name, which was pretty clear they had no clue who they were ringing, even though they claimed to be from BT. Then, out of the blue, they said there were issues deep in my computer and tried to “assist” me. I wasn’t buying it when I called them out for being a scammer. The chat got really hostile when I said I wasn’t interested and ended the call. Not impressed at all.BT9 yearsGot two calls from this number today. The people on the line had Indian accents and said they were from the BT head office. I told them straight up they weren’t, and that they were calling from India. They just ended the call after that. This isn’t the first time I’ve had calls like this. When I’ve talked to them before, they’ve claimed my internet was being hacked and asked how close I was to my router. I just hung up on them.BTUKIndia9 yearsI didn't pick up, I figured it was dodgy. Reported it to Action Fraud just to be safe. Don't bother answering, it's definitely a scam.Action Fraud9 yearsOn the morning of 21 September 2017, my workshop phone rang a few times but I didn’t answer straight away since I was tied up. When I finally checked the voicemail, all I could hear was some weird background sounds. Eventually, I picked up and the caller said they were from BT. After having a look at some of the comments here, it seems like this might have been a scammer attempting to access my system.BT9 yearsSomeone said they were from BT, said my internet was going to be cut off because of some calls or something.BT9 yearsi just let it ring through to answerphone. couldn’t hear a thing, total silence. normally if it’s a genuine call, someone says something. defo a sales pitch or scam trying to get through.9 yearsPicked up the phone, but all I got was some weird noise in the background.9 yearsSomebody called saying they were from BT and tried to get me to use the computer to fix an internet problem. What nerve!BT9 yearsSo, this lady calling herself Carol Smith, with a pretty strange accent, said she was from BT. She told me my internet had been hacked, with more than 20 devices connected to it, and apparently hackers from Manchester were involved. She warned that my internet would be cut off for three weeks unless I let them get into my system and sort it out. I kept pressing her for more info and then she just ended the call. Bit of a laugh, honestly.Carol SmithBTManchester9 yearsToday I got two calls that just ended right when I picked up, then later a call came through from a Private Number, which I reckon was linked.
