I pointed out that I receive unwanted calls too, and on top of that, I don't even foot the bill! An Indian gentleman took his sweet time responding after I greeted him with a simple 'Hello'. He introduced himself as a representative from a National Telemarketing firm, claiming to help stop nuisance calls. He mentioned a rather modest registration fee of £6.99. After a bit of back and forth, he transferred my call to someone he referred to as the Area Manager, who also had an Asian accent. The kicker was that this Area Manager wanted to set up a monthly direct debit of £6.99! Once I began asking a few probing questions, he suddenly hung up on me.
