someone rang saying they were from e.on but when i asked why, they couldn’t give me a clear answer. then they started asking for my account details and when my contract would renew. really suspicious if you ask me.

So this number rang me yesterday, and I got a feeling it was some kind of scam since I'd dealt with the same stuff before. They started asking about metering stuff but quickly switched to wanting pricing details. I hung up straight away. After that, my phone blew up all day with random calls from everywhere in the UK. I reckon I had about 30 calls from roughly 25 different numbers. Whenever one call failed, another one popped up. It kicked off again the next day, but luckily only a few calls so far, like three or so.

I’m with British Gas Business and one of my clients told me this number kept ringing them up, saying they were from the “metering” team and asking for details. They even gave some info to the caller, thinking it sounded legit. But this definitely isn’t a genuine British Gas number. Please don’t share any details if you get a call from this number.
