the number was definitely fake, it was someone from a call centre in liverpool saying i was in an accident. just acted like i didn’t know what they were talking about. i’ve blocked the number now.

Received a call earlier today that sounded just like the one described here. The caller claimed to be from Legal and General, but when I checked with Legal and General themselves, they said they had no connection to this person.

I saw the call coming from a Portsmouth number (starts with 023 92), so I picked up. The person on the line seemed to know my name and started asking about a car crash I'd supposedly been in recently. I told 'em straight up I haven't had any accident and insisted they take my info off their list. Then they tried asking if a family member had used my car and was involved in a crash. Had to be pretty clear that I wanted my details removed, and now I’ve gone ahead and blocked their number.
