I got a call from the ONS the other day, they kept ringing back but it’s legit. They said if you complete their survey, which happens around four times yearly, they’ll give you a £25 voucher. I tried mine out at Tesco and Asda with no issues, so the offer really is real and can be used at lots of well-known shops.

They said they were from the Office of National Statistics. I didn't want to share any info with them. Now, they're calling me a couple of times every day, super annoying and pushy. I’m about ready to just block the number.

They mainly ask simple questions about your age and who lives with you - sort of like a mini census. Honestly, there’s nothing sketchy about it, and after you’re done, they send you £25 vouchers. I’ve taken part a couple of times now. Finally, something that’s actually legit!

Honestly, it's true... I got those £25 vouchers myself, no joke.

Got calls from this number loads, like more than 20 times in just a week - all about some survey or something. Really annoying and way too pushy. I ended up blocking it, hoping they'd stop bugging me. But even after blocking, they've rang me a couple of times today! This number has rung me quite a few times in the last couple of days, on my mobile and landline alike. Yesterday, I told them to quit calling but today, the calls kept coming on both phones. When they first called, they asked for my name and address, which felt really suspicious to me. I don’t ever share my personal info with any unexpected callers. So, I’ve just blocked the number now.

I get calls from the Office for National Statistics now and then. They can be a bit bothersome, especially when you're too busy to take part in their surveys. Still, I understand their research is useful, and every now and then they give out vouchers which is a nice touch.

Got a call where the person asked if I was someone else, and then if I was their daughter, but with a different name. They even gave me an address that wasn’t anywhere near mine before finally asking me my name. I’ve had quite a few calls from this number or a mobile that sent a text saying they’d ring me up. Honestly, I’m not sure if it’s legit or just some kind of scam.

What's weird is that the whole thing supposedly ended on 27th August 2021, so why bother calling me now? The ONS is running their own study to figure out how common Covid-19 is and how quickly its moving. If they get in touch and ask you to join the infection rate survey, saying yes means you’d be helping loads by giving the ONS accurate info on how many folk are actually catching it.

This isn’t a scam call. The ONS is a proper organisation. Some folks might’ve bin confused cos the first letter was just sent to “Resident.” I think that’s cos they picked addresses first since they didn’t have names then. If you replied with your name, later letters would use that. The follow-up mentioned Covid-19 tests, and I chose not to take part. The first call this week left a voicemail saying you’re welcome to join but you can say no if you want. Another time someone rang this number again but hung up when my answerphone picked up.

Last night around 8pm, I got a call from the Office Of National Statistics. Since I’d said it was alright before, I agreed to do the survey. This number definitely belongs to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), the government body responsible for running the UK census every ten years. What a lot of folks don’t realise is that besides the big census, ONS also does ongoing surveys across the population. If you get a call from this number, it’s likely because your address was randomly picked to take part in one of these studies. The data collected is vital and used by government officials, the Bank of England, universities, and various charities. I can see why their calls can be a bit persistent and annoying sometimes, but it’s really important work that benefits the whole country. I was happy to take the survey myself.

Im pretty sure this is the Office for National Statistics doing research with folks in the UK. They usually send a letter first asking if you want to join in. Seems like a government agency. They collect info through survey chats to create stats - pretty harmless!

Today I got a call sayin I was bein investigated by HMRC for tax dodging and they wanted me to ring back to sort out payment over the phone or else I'd be arrested! These scammers really should be put behind bars!

This number belongs to the Office for National Statistics & they only ring if you’ve signed up to take part. They really need folks ready to share anonymous info as it helps the government decide how to tax and allocate money. But seriously, if you don’t pick up, they can be quite relentless!

Office for National Statistics is legit, they normally send a message first to let you know. The last time they called me it was like 8.41 in the evening, bit of a bad time really. But they were really friendly folks.

This number keeps ringing me up even though I’ve told them I’m not interested in sharing any more details. They’ve called at different times, like once at 8.20 in the morning. I answered and they said, "We start at 8." I replied, "Well, I don’t." Then they said, "Bit early for you then?" Super annoying and borderline rude. I’ve blocked them now.

Got called by the Office for National Statistics like 14 times over 3 days, always when I was busy. I don’t mind helping out, but leaving a voicemail asking me to call a free number back and then ringing again nonstop is a bit much. I’d pick up if I had the time. It's really put me off wanting to cooperate with them coz the constant calls are just too irritating.

I got a call from the office for national statistics and I think they only ring if you've said yes to do one of their surveys or your address is on their list for a survey. When they call, just answer and ask them to delete your info if you dont want to be part of it. The info they gather is pretty handy since it helps figure out where the gov should spend money and how to improve schools.

Got a call from the Office for National Statistics about some surveys. They usually ring because you’ve taken part before. If you’re not up for it anymore, just tell them to remove you from their list.

This number keeps ringing my phone multiple times a day, usually up to three times, and it’s driving me mad. I don’t pick up and it just keeps going on and on. Honestly, it feels like harassment and it really ought to be stopped.

I’ve had this same number ringing me non stop. I never pick up since I have no clue who it is.
On Thursday it called at 7:08,
then Friday I got calls at 10:29 and 12:52,
Sunday it rang at 3:04, 4:08 and 10:44.
Today, Monday, I saw missed calls from 11:17, 2:46 and 4:24.
Actually it’s been calling even before all these days too!

If someone tries to get you to take part in a government survey, be careful - once you say yes, they keep bothering you with loads more requests.

I asked them to take me off their list, but they said it couldn’t be done. I told them they had rung me twice within two days, disturbing me after I’d worked a 14-hour night shift and had barely slept three hours. Since then, I’ve had at least seven more calls. These feel like proper nuisance calls, especially as I'm signed up with the TPS. Honestly, it’s shocking that these lot can keep bothering folks who clearly don’t want to be involved in their surveys.

this phone number really belongs to the office for national statistics (ons). you might recognise ons as the government agency that does the UK census every ten years. what not everyone knows is that ons also runs a bunch of ongoing surveys throughout the year. if they’ve reached out to you, it’s probably because your address got picked for one of these surveys. the data they collect is used by the government, the bank of england, charity groups, and researchers.
