I got a call from the diabetic eye clinic checking in because I’d missed my yearly check-up 🙂

I got a call from this number on my mobile, which isn't listed anywhere. There was no voicemail left. When I tried calling back, it went straight to an automated reply saying the number is no longer in service. I couldn't tell which network it belonged to. When I spoke to my network, they suggested I should block it myself. Definitely just some annoying nuisance caller!

Tried ringing back but it just wouldn’t go through, said something about a faulty line. Odd really, cos I never even got to pick up the phone first time.

Hi there, I manage the diabetic retinopathy eye screening programme and we've had several issues reported. People say they’re getting calls from us but we don’t leave any voicemail, and when they try to ring back, the number just won’t connect. Could you please ensure this number is taken off any sites that link it with the Diabetic Eye Screening service? The correct contact we use is 0333 999 2597. Thanks in advance.

This morning, my phone showed a missed call from this number, but I couldn’t get through when I tried calling back on either my mobile or landline. Later, I found out it was from the Retinal Screening Service - seriously, how careless is that? It really threw me off a bit!
