8 yearsI received a phone call stating that I was entitled to some cash. I decided to string them along, providing them with an incorrect date of birth and banking details. Just two hours later, I got another call assuring me that everything had been verified and that I’d be getting a follow-up call the following morning at 9. As predicted, the next caller informed me of a cheque for £3,600 that was supposedly waiting for me. There was a representative in my area, Norfolk, who would deliver it, but first, I was told I needed to head to the Post Office to buy a “One for All” card for £200 to cover solicitor fees before getting the cheque. That’s when I realised they must think I’m daft; it screamed 'scam'!
