I got a call from this number, and a woman inquired about the pesky nuisance calls I’ve been receiving. She proposed a solution to block them for a monthly fee of £1.90 and wanted to arrange a direct debit right away. When I mentioned that I’d prefer them to send me the information in the post so I could mull it over, she agreed and then proceeded to hang up without even asking for my address! Safe to say I won’t be receiving any information in the mail!

I had a rather peculiar phone call from this number this morning, 30th August 2013, at precisely 10:15. The chap on the other end was probing into the sort of nuisance calls I receive. He seemed particularly interested in whether I get international nuisance calls from India or those that leave me with silence on the line. I mentioned that if these bothersome callers become too intrusive and refuse to take a hint, I've taken to keeping a whistle handy to make my point clear. He then offered to rid me of all these nuisance calls for a mere £1.90 a month. I firmly told him I'd prefer to stick to my whistle method. This seemed to end our little chat abruptly, as he hung up without a farewell. I suspect he might have been fishing for my card details.

A chap rang me earlier today regarding my landline, inquiring about the kind of nuisance calls I've been receiving. He claimed that for a fee of around £1.59 a month, he could put a stop to these calls as well as those coming from Indian call centres. Naturally, I declined, informing him that I had recently acquired a new phone that effectively blocks any withheld or unavailable numbers. His response was simply, “That’s alright, then. Cheers,” before he promptly disconnected. Upon researching the number he called from, it turned out to be linked to a virtual office. Quite baffling!
