Many users warn it is not O2 itself, but a sales firm offering O2 contracts at higher prices with long-term binding agreements. Calls often involve suspicious behaviour such as silent hangs-up, unclear messages, or dubious questions about tariffs, leading to concerns over potential scams or aggressive telemarketing. Some find the calls intrusive and frequent, with complaints about harassment and no easy way to stop them. Twice in just 2 weeks, someone pretending to be from O2 called me, asking about my plan. What’s their game here?

Received a call just now. However, as soon as I picked up, there was complete silence on the other end. Quite strange, really.

I've had loads of calls from a call centre using different phone numbers, saying they are Ariel Direct, which they claim is a partner firm linked to O2. They try to push business mobile contracts for O2. Just a heads up, they’re not actually O2, just a third party selling their stuff. Often, you end up paying way more because you’re basically dealing with a middleman. Honestly, it’s better to do your own research or just call O2 direct to find a better deal. If you sign up with Ariel Direct, you're stuck in a long business contract that’s really hard to get out of! So watch out - Ariel Direct sells O2 products, but they aren’t O2 themselves!

My husband keeps getting calls from a number claiming to be O2, but I always thought O2 didn’t call like that. It’s really odd and a bit annoying. Is there any way to make it stop?

I received a call on my mobile, picked it up, and heard some background noise, but no one actually said anything before it cut off.

i dont get how these people even get hold of your phone numbers, must be someone sharing it somewhere. honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if o2 were slipping out our numbers just to try and reel in more clients, tho i really cant say if that’s true or not. either way, it’s so annoying!

I phoned O2 to check if the call came from them, and they told me it wasn’t one of their numbers. Apparently, it’s from a firm named Aerial Direct. Here’s their website if you want to have a look: http://www.aerial-direct.co.uk/#2

I nearly ignored this number when it rang my phone but figured it could be the bank since I’d been speaking to them earlier. A guy called Ben answered, said he was from o2. He started asking about my current plan, how much I’m paying, and what I get for it. Then he tried pushing me to upgrade to £20 a month, which I refused. Shortly after, he just cut the call. Felt pretty dodgy to me.

A guy rang me and only said hello. I picked up straight away and told him my name, but he just hung up on me. Chris Byrne

At first, I thought it was some dodgy call, but it turned out to be a local number from an O2 service centre. They sorted me out with a cracking deal - knocked 40% off my tariff! Guess not all calls are trying to rip you off, lol.

I'm getting calls from them every single day at the exact same hour and it's driving me mad. Surely there's a way to make it stop? If I kept bothering someone like that, I'd probably get in trouble for phone harassment or whatever.

Got a missed call on my mobile, but I didn’t bother calling back. Cheers for the heads-up.

That number looked a bit foreign so I decided not to answer (thankfully) as it was really early in the morning when they called. I felt a bit iffy since I had no idea who it could be. I checked the comments and loads of people said it’s a scam, so I definitely won’t be answering if I see it pop up again. This site is super helpful, cheers!

An older relative of mine got a call from this number, and the person on the other end just said "get out now". When they asked who it was, the caller simply hung up. Strange behaviour.

I got a call on my phone from a woman but I couldn't quite catch what she was saying. It sounded a bit dodgy to me, so I just ended the call. Felt like it was one of those scam calls.

Just got a call from this number, and ages back, another one quite similar but ending with 118 gave me a ring too! Won't be picking up if it calls once more, that's for sure!

My phone and my mate's blew up at exactly the same time from this number. I'm keen to find out what sort of "mix-up" is going on here.

At all hours, this number just wont stop ringing me. Honestly, if I ever caught whoever it was, they’d be needing dental work forever. It really puzzles me how the government can keep an eye on every call, message and email but somehow can’t (or won’t) put an end to these annoying calls.

They keep calling me saying it was me who dialled their number, but I never did! It's honestly so annoying and driving me mad!!!!!!!!!
