Just got a voicemail from this number around 11.38 on 9th October, it was some promotion for a salon or whatever.

So it all kicked off yesterday morning with calls from a number ending in 577, and now a different one today. Whenever I pick up, a voice says there's a message from my nephew who's working overseas, but there isn't actually any message. The calls come through roughly every 90 minutes. I’ve just received a call from this number, and it was a rather fleeting message instructing me to get in touch with another number. Turns out, it belonged to the SMS service of Boots opticians. Given that my partner and son have an appointment booked in the coming weeks, it all clicks into place. This number has rung me a few times, but with all the annoying calls I get, especially from 02087599577, I usually just let it go to voicemail. Later, I check the caller ID and listen to any messages left via 1471 or 1571. If it’s someone I know, I’ll give them a ring back; if not, I just block it out. About all the talk that the phone companies don’t do anything about these nuisance calls - well, I reckon it’s because they’re not really interested in helping us. Providing a real service would probably cut into their profits. Just a theory, but maybe these firms are actually behind some of these calls, pushing us to pay for their so-called call blocking services. Seems a bit dodgy, don’t you think?

I rang Quick Quid myself and they said its a total scam, so don’t answer or respond! At first, a lady with an Asian accent called us directly, and when we told her we hadn’t made any application, she just stopped calling but now the texts have started. To be on the safe side, we’ve let our bank know, asked them to block any withdrawals without our say so, and cancelled our cards as well.

Havent got any texts from these numbers but you should probably check if your phone number is tied to any email accounts as a security measure. The numbers 02392386688 and 02033653324 seem connected to some account changes, which makes me think they’re linked to some sort of server or system. Any messages that come through might be for anyone in your house, so they might not be as private or safe as you’d hope.

Had a couple of calls back to back early Sunday with some robotic voice mentioning a message from some random number, was so fast I couldn't catch it properly. Then it went on about Microsoft or something, saying my account supposedly got £27,576,041! Wish my bank had that much! Definitely sounds like a scam just trying to get me to ring a pricey number, so I just ignored it.
