Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent, saying there was something wrong with my Windows on the laptop. Didn’t own a laptop or anything like that, so definitely a scam.

They kept messing up how they said my name. Then they started going on about my computer having issues and how they’d have to turn it off or something ridiculous like that. I wasn’t buying any of it. I played along for a bit just to waste their time, but got fed up and told them outright it was a scam before hanging up. Blocked the number straight away.

Some bloke with an Indian accent called me and messed up saying my name, so I just put the phone down straight away! I don't deal with anyone from that region in work or anywhere in my circle. Bit of a shame if it was something urgent though.

Got a call from some bloke who barely spoke any English, said he was ringing from Reading. Pretty sure they spoof numbers to dodge those international call block things. He kept banging on about malware on my internet connection. I'm fairly tech savvy and his rubbish made zero sense. Told him I'll have my son check it out, not some random stranger claiming to be Microsoft certified. When he asked for his certification number so I could verify, I just laughed. Told him to find someone legit to back that up. After that, I let him know exactly what I thought of him.

Got a call from someone called "Charles" wanting to chat with the old resident here. Told him that the person had passed away ages ago. He didn’t want to hear anything after that. Ended up blocking the number.

Got a call today for the second time. This one actually spoke, claimed to be from some kind of call blocking company, said they'd be sorting out annoying telemarketers and updating my call blocking settings. Bit suspicious if you ask me.

I just got a call from a guy who sounded Indian, said his name was Alex and claimed there were weird emails being sent from my PC. What freaked me out was that he actually gave me contact info when I asked. The address he gave me traced back to some Flexi Offices place in Manchester.

This person claimed to be from Microsoft support and said my computer had been hacked and my licence was expired. They told me they could fix the problem and remove the hackers. They also said if I didn’t switch on my computer soon, they'd shut it down and I'd lose access to it completely. I explained I hadn’t used the PC for almost a month because I’ve been really unwell. Still, they insisted I had to sort out the hacking issue by the next day or my computer would be disabled. I’m honestly not sure what’s right to do here.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent who asked for my missus. When I asked who it was, she said she was with “Vindows technical support” - probably meant windows, I guess. I told her we were fine, as we have double glazing installed, thanked her and ended the call. Pretty clear scam to me.

Got a call from abroad claiming there was something wrong with my computer licence. When I questioned the guy, he swore at me straight away. Then, just a few minutes later, they rang me again from the same number and started cursing once more. Proper rude!

Got two calls from this number claiming they were from Microsoft. She said my email was linked to some spam asking for money in my name. She wanted me to switch on my PC so she could fix it remotely. I wasn’t falling for it and told her to buzz off. Then she threatened to shut my computer down, so I told her to do her worst since I didn’t really care. Ended the call after that. Writing this now on my laptop, so no harm done. Watch out for these tricks, folks.

I asked them which computer they meant and they said it was the one registered under my name - they even knew my name! I asked again, still no clear answer. Then they carried on saying I should know they were going to disconnect it. I just told them to go ahead and hung up.

Some bloke rang me, calling me Shelby and said it was about debt help. I told him he got the wrong person and asked what firm he was with and how he even got my number. Then he just hung up. I keep getting texts from all sorts of numbers calling me Shelby and trying to sell these suspicious loans. I block each one but they just keep coming from different numbers. It's pretty annoying.

I usually ignore calls from numbers I don’t recognise. If it was someone who really needed to speak to me, they’d leave a voicemail, but nope, nothing. So now I’m stuck wondering who it might’ve been.

Got a call saying I was eligible for some government scheme that could clear my debts. When I asked what company she was with, she just said it was some 'Debt management services' dept, dodging my question. I wanted to know how they knew I qualified, and she just said they had my name and number, that was it. The lady had an Indian accent. When I pressed about where she got my info from, she just went quiet and didn’t answer properly. I told her, right there on the call, that I was formally requesting under the data protection act for them to delete my details. She then asked if she could ask me something, saying it was just an info call and no changes were expected. I told her firmly to never call again, to remove all my data or I’d take legal action. She didn’t seem to understand, so I just hung up on her.
