Today I checked my voicemail and found a message left on the 19th of Oct (today’s 9th Nov). The caller claimed I’m involved in some tax fraud case and urged me to ring back asap before they take legal action. At the end, he said his name was James Anderson, supposedly from HMRC, but he spoke with a very thick Afro-Caribbean accent. Since I’ve heard nothing else since then, I’m pretty certain it’s just a scam.

Got a call from someone claiming to be James Anderson at HMRC about some tax fraud stuff. They said there was a warrant out in my name and if I didn't call them back, there would be court action and the warrant would be enforced. Sounded proper dodgy to me.

Someone called saying they were from hmrc but refused to tell me their name. They then asked if i had a criminal lawyer, and the moment i said no, they just hung up on me.

I got a call from someone saying they were with hmre, telling me to pay right away or they'd get a warrant out. I told him I'd check with hmrc to see if it was real, and suddenly he got rude and just ended the call. Definitely a scam!

I got a call from someone saying they were with HMRC, warning me about a warrant if I didn't sort out a payment right away! I told him to let me check with the real HMRC first if he was legit. Then he started shouting and just suddenly hung up on me! Total scam.
