My dad just got a call from some bloke claiming to be David Smith from HMRC. He told him he owed a huge amount in back taxes and said the police would be at our house in a couple of hours. Said my dad might end up locked up for the weekend. It's shocking how low these scammers stoop.

This is the third time this month I’ve had calls like this, always from different numbers, all saying there’s an arrest warrant out for me. Got a ring from this number but decided not to pick up. I’ve actually had a couple of calls before, different numbers but same automated warning about some legal trouble with hmrc. Got a call yesterday from a Portsmouth number, 02392-160533, around 3 in the afternoon on Thursday the 25th of October 2018. The message said some serious lawsuit has supposedly been filed against me personally. It was one of those recorded warnings, kept playing over and over, telling me I needed to ring back or else I’d face hefty charges and fees soon. Bit worrying, but seems dodgy to me.
