My mum got a phone call from this number, and a woman left a voicemail saying something really awful along the lines of "You're gonna die." Because of that, the police have taken it seriously and are now investigating it as a death threat. They even gave us a case number and assigned two officers to handle it. Seeing all the terrible and creepy stuff linked to this number, I plan to push both the police and BT to do more about it. This kind of behaviour is beyond wrong, and honestly, the people behind it, including the company and anyone involved, should be punished properly.

Got a call from this number earlier but didn’t pick up since I never do for unknown callers. Decided to call back and as expected, it just hung up on me right away. Definitely looks like a scam to me. I’ve gone ahead and blocked it!

Got a call this morning at 8:52am but my BT 8500 phone, with the spam blocker, just wouldn’t let it through. It’s great because it blocks these dodgy calls every single time. If you’re fed up with the scams trying to pinch your bank details, I’d really recommend getting a similar device (there’s an updated one now too). You only find out someone tried to ring you when you check your phone hours later. These calls are all just trying to con you, stay careful! - Bob Stacey

I've been getting incessant calls from this number and others like it, claiming there's an issue with my computer. The funny thing is, my computer isn't even switched on when they ring!

I saw the number was from Southampton so I answered. As you'd expect with all the noise in the background, it was some call centre, but no one actually spoke when I picked up. Just another pointless call I’ve dealt with.

Looks like someone's out here selling our personal info. Watch yourself when handing out your details, it's definitely a scam trying to rip you off. Just tell them to jog on and find a real job.

Got a ring from this number today. Told the bloke that he’d already phoned me last week and I’d asked to be removed from their list more than once. He replied with a proper rude tirade, telling me to get lost and stuff like that. Not very polite at all!

Got a call from this number around 8:10am today. The lady on the phone had an Indian accent and said her name was Janet. She sounded like she was just reading off a script. I told her to stop calling me again!

Got a call bright and early at 8am on Saturday the 14th Jan from someone saying they were Household Preferences. They wanted me to verify my name and address and had a few questions. The person sounded like they weren’t a native English speaker. When I asked why they were ringing so early, they just started repeating the same spiel, so I ended up hanging up.

So fed up with these calls - no ring, just hanging up. They tried twice yesterday and again this morning at about 8:30. They hadn’t said a word for two days, but today they just said ‘goodbye.’ Fingers crossed that’s the final time they bother me!

Got calls from this number a couple o times now, always first thing in the morning. Some bloke called "John" answers with a really strong Indian accent. Yep, sounds dead obvious like it’s from a call centre.

Such a nuisance, ringing my phone nonstop and especially bright and early in the morning. I've told them I don't want to hear from them, but they just keep calling the very next day!

I don’t get why BT lets these annoying calls keep happening. I was up a ladder on a Saturday morning, and the phone suddenly rings - had to hurry and pick it up only to get some rubbish like this. So annoying!

I had a similar thing happen. The person on the phone had a strange foreign accent and just kept saying the same stuff without explaining why they were calling. When I didn’t give my address, they called me again, sounded a bit annoyed, then just hung up. Annoyingly, this was all at 8.30am on a Saturday!

This morning around 08:22, I got a call from someone giving a fake name, started with the usual line about "just three quick questions." I told them firmly not to ring me again, but they hung up on me mid-sentence. Total telemarketer nonsense.

Got a nasty message on my voicemail. The caller told me to speak louder (bit tricky when it’s an answer machine!) and then started implying I was having some weird relationship with my mum. Lovely stuff.

Someone rang me asking for Mr #######, and I told them he isn’t home right now and asked if they wanted to leave a message. Before I could even finish, they hung up abruptly. The person had a foreign accent and sounded like they were from some call centre. Seems like one of those scam or phishing calls, probably aimed at older folks.
