Got a call from a girl with an Asian accent who said her name was Harley and claimed to be from BT Accounts. This wasn’t the first time I’d had a call like this, and I told her that before ending the call and blocking the number. Last time, it was obviously a scam to get my bank info. Seriously, don’t ever share or verify any details with random callers. If you’re unsure, just hang up and call the company back using a number you find yourself, not the one they provide.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent saying she was from BT’s billing team, which was odd given I haven’t had any BT services for over two decades. She wanted to confirm if I was the primary account holder but got really confused when I asked her to give me my own name. Then, out of nowhere, she just cut off the call. The number started with 02386, which I checked and found it’s not even assigned to any location yet - definitely a dodgy number.

Got a call from some Asian bloke calling himself Peter, trying to say I owe cash on my BT phone bill. Thing is, I haven’t even been with BT for over a decade! Told him straight up he was a scammer and told him off good. Then he just hung up on me!

Today was my first morning without having to get up early, and suddenly I got a call from this number. An Asian woman was on the line, asking how I was doing. I almost told her I was annoyed to be woken up so early but thought better of it. She claimed to be from BT's accounts team and wanted to verify some details. I asked her to repeat herself, and then she insisted on speaking to the person who holds the account for this number. I told her I wasn’t a BT customer and she just hung up. A few weeks ago, I had a similar call from someone saying they were with Talk Talk; I told them I was with BT just to end the call quickly.

Got a ring earlier from someone claiming to be from BT, which I’m not even a customer of. Weirdly enough, they seemed to have a load of my personal info, all wrong though. They tried to tempt me with a 35% discount but wanted my bank details first. I fed them some made-up info, of course it didn't work. Then I asked if they had my NatWest account details on file to confirm, and they said yes and promised to check. When I called her out on lying, she ended up calling me names and hung up. Not the nicest experience but I’m happy I wasted a few mins of her time so hopefully it saves someone else from falling for it.
