Got a call the other day from some tosser using a dodgy fake Essex number that was computer generated. Said they were from my local energy advice service, but when I asked why the hell they weren’t ringing from nearby, they just cut me off. These scammy types nowadays can’t handle a bit of backchat at all!

This number rang my home phone at around 5:30pm on Wednesday the 26th of July. When I picked up, I could hear two people speaking - a woman who gave her name and claimed to be a local energy advisor, though the number wasn’t from my area, and a man speaking in a foreign tongue. I mentioned the confusing background noise and quickly hung up. Seems dodgy to me, especially since companies I usually deal with prefer contacting me on my mobile.

Received a phone call on my home phone at half-past five on Wednesday, the 26th of July. When I picked up, there were two individuals conversing - one woman who introduced herself, claiming to be a local energy consultant (yet the number wasn’t familiar to my area), and she didn’t mention the name of her firm. The other person was a man speaking in a language I couldn't understand. I pointed out that there seemed to be some interference on the line and promptly ended the conversation. I'm quite sceptical about this call being genuine, particularly since most businesses I interact with prefer to contact me via my mobile.

Seeing that there were like 36 lookups done in just a couple of seconds definitely seems fishy. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number since I’ve got no clue who it could be from in Southampton.
