Its a scam, once they pick someone (like you), they can use tech or tricks to make it look like they’re calling from a different landline. The best thing to do is hang up, find the real number of the company from a trusted site, then call them on a different phone. Got a call from an unfamiliar number, but no one said anything before hanging up.

I ignored it at first since I didn't recognise the number. Later, I looked it up to see who it was, found out some details about the caller. After that, I marked the call as unknown and went ahead to block the number.

Got another call from 02382560073, second time now. First one was yesterday around 2.25pm. They said they were from O2 mobile. I just told them I don’t do cold calls and ended it quick. Blocked the number now. I’ve seen reports it might be risky, so I’m putting it down as dangerous even though I havent had any bad experience myself yet.

Spoke to an Indian woman, quite hard to follow what she was saying, but it was clear she was pushing some amazing offer on a new iPhone. I told her I was after a burner phone for my own deals, and she just ended the call. Definitely another dodgy scam. Have blocked the number now - appears to be coming from Southampton.

I’ve had two calls from this number now, answered both times but they just cut off immediately - seems like it could be a scam or something.

I wasn’t used to the ringtone on my new phone, so I was a bit slow answering it and they just gave up, which was a bit annoying. Luckily, my new phone lets you block numbers, so after seeing what others have said here, I decided to block them. What a relief!
