I've just had the misfortune of dealing with yet another scammer pretending to represent a debt collection agency. When I mentioned that I don’t owe any money, the bloke was incredibly impolite and abruptly cut the call. What a charmer!

A chap rang me claiming he had access to my credit report and mentioned several firms with outstanding debts. Strangely enough, I’ve never dealt with any of those companies. When I queried how on earth he obtained my credit info, he said HMRC had granted him access. I couldn’t help but chuckle at the bloke, who spoke with a pronounced Asian accent, and I told him he seemed a bit dodgy. His response was a bit of a muddle, and then he just cut off.

Claimed they were representing the government and somehow could lower interest rates on unsecured loans to zero - quite odd, isn't it?

I received a call from an Indian woman who inquired if I was a particular individual. When I pressed her for more details, she mentioned she was from a credit investigations firm. To be honest, I swiftly hung up since I've never dealt with any credit problems or related matters. Feels like a dodgy scam to me; I reckon it's wise to flag this and check if anyone else has had a similar experience.
