Since the number looked local, I picked up. They already knew my name and mentioned it was regarding some car finance claim. I told them I don’t even drive or have a licence. Then she said I must’ve had a car before. I tried stopping her but she kept going on about financing and claims. When I said my son paid cash for the car, she suddenly ended the call. Can’t stand these calls anymore - blocked the number straight away!

I picked up and it turned out to be someone from an Indian call centre trying to see if I qualified for some sort of car finance compensation. Their spiel was about potential scam because of commissions or something like that. The person on the line only had my name and phone number, couldn’t really say why I should get any compensation. Then they started asking for my postcode and other details. Next thing, they passed me over to a "manager" (didn’t say it outright) who was meant to explain the whole compensation thing. I just said I wasn’t interested and ended the call.
