As soon as I answered and said hello, all I could hear was what sounded like a busy call centre in the background. Definitely just another spam call, so I’m blocking them.

I had no idea who was ringing but recognised Southampton. The caller asked for me directly and then claimed my number was listed for cold calls, offering a free blocking service. I told them “no way.” Kind of funny - a cold call trying to stop cold calls. Blocked the number straight away.

Hi there, I’ve signed up and honestly, the amount of calls I get is pretty low. Every now and then the phone rings but then it drops before I can figure out who it was or which company called. I looked online trying to get info for making a complaint on your site but couldn’t really pin down the caller, just that it was some sort of cold call. Gotta say, this feels legit - you can even have a look at my review on their website or Google reviews. When IPS rang me up first time, I assumed it was just another annoying sales call I didn’t want to deal with. But I answered anyway, and honestly, I was a bit suspicious at first thinking, “Alright, sounds good, but what’s the catch? How much am I gonna have to pay?” Turns out, it’s completely free, and since then the annoying calls have pretty much vanished. Really impressive service, well done to the team!

The Individual Protection Service (IPS) is completely free and helps people stop those annoying cold calls and useless marketing messages. It’s made up of loads of people who hate getting random telemarketer calls, but still want to get offers by phone, mail, or email when they actually want them. Basically, the IPS lets you decide who contacts you and when. It filters out the rubbish marketing you don’t want and only shows you top-rated companies offering stuff you might be interested in. They’ll put you in touch with their partners but only if you ask for it directly.

Usually when I get a cold call, the person hangs up before the automated message starts. If it does get to the recorded part, I listen quickly to see if it’s someone I actually want to speak with and then interrupt them. Otherwise, I just end the call straight away. Since setting it up this way, I barely get any scam or cold calls anymore.

Had a look at numbers from Coventry, Bristol, and Southampton - seems like they're all just time-wasters judging by what people are saying. Checked a few from 2020 as well, and guess what? Same useless lot, really unfortunate.

Got a call from a Southampton number, but I didn’t pick up since it only rang twice. Then my voicemail kicked in and I could hear an office call centre noise in the background. I looked up the number and ended up leaving a message here. This smells like a scam, so I’ll just block it.

A woman rang me from something called IPS a short while back. She told me my name and phone number had popped up on some kind of list because I get loads of nuisance calls. She offered to help by letting me sign up for a free service to block these calls. I agreed to sign up with them but declined registration with any of their affiliates. Since then, I've got a message from them, plus a couple from TPS and MPS too.

I received a rather intrusive call where the woman claimed she could prevent all those annoying cold calls and emails from reaching me. She mentioned that my details were supposedly being peddled around, and she was offering to put a stop to it all. When I inquired whether she had my email address, she somewhat evasively claimed she did not. Frustrated, I simply told her not to bother me with further calls. I got loads of calls from the same woman every single day, super pushy and salesy. She clearly knew I wasn’t interested but wouldn’t take no for an answer. She even asked if I understood her spiel, I told her it was completely over my head, yet she acted like that meant I was interested! Eventually, I had to just hang up on her, but that didn’t stop them, they kept ringing back!
