I just stayed quiet since nobody said a word. Figured if it was someone legit, they’d probably say “Hello?” or something. Most likely a scam call. I mean, who even uses a landline now?

I received a call on my landline and it felt rather odd, almost like the line was devoid of any sounds. I held my tongue during the silence, as I thought if it were a genuine call, surely they'd be saying something like "Hello? Is anyone there?" But was met with utter quietness instead! I’m leaning towards the idea that this could be some dodgy scammer trying to entice me into calling back. I can just imagine that if I were to respond, it might trigger some pre-recorded spiel about winning a lavish prize or being in a spot of bother with HMRC. It’s all complete nonsense, really!
