Got a call from a number with a Southampton area code. The guy claimed to be from Thames Water, which was odd since I’d actually been chatting with them online earlier that day. He started asking if all my plumbing and drains were working fine. When I asked him what he was talking about, he said my water supply was having issues and that my cover had expired. I told him I had no idea what he meant, and then he just hung up on me! Felt like he was gearing up to ask for payment or something dodgy like that.

So this number rang me and I picked up, there was an accent that sounded Eastern European. I just stayed quiet and before I could say anything they ended the call. When I tried calling back, some automated voice came on saying “something is terribly wrong” and then the call just dropped. Quite strange!
