My elderly mother, who’s 96 and pretty much deaf, has been getting calls from a landline based in Southampton. She’s housebound and is currently in full-time care, so you can imagine her predicament. I’ve just checked her BT bill and discovered she’s been charged £9.22 for a whopping 23 calls from this number this month! What’s truly baffling is that she tells me some of these callers don’t respond at all. It’s quite clear to me that this is a scam operation. I’m taking action and reporting this to BT, as my mum is definitely a vulnerable individual in this situation. Regards, Jonathan Smith FCIFA
