Luckily, my True Caller app stopped this number from ringing through to me!

About five minutes back, I got a ring from 02380433840 saying they were calling from Microsoft. The caller insisted they had sent me loads of reports over the past three months I’d ignored. I ended up messing with them a bit, which seemed to throw the person off before I hung up. They tried calling again shortly after, but I just let it ring out.

Every time I ring back, no one ever picks up, so I’m pretty sure it’s just some sort of scam.

Someone just rang me claiming to be from Microsoft. I told them I wasn’t bothered because I don’t even own a laptop or computer! They seemed a bit shocked when I said that. After that I just ended the call.

I've just received a call from this number, allegedly representing Virgin Media. They attempted to persuade me to provide them with remote access to my computer, threatening to cut off my internet if I refused. A rather cheeky move, if you ask me! I firmly told them to proceed with the disconnection, and wouldn’t you know it, they promptly hung up. Definitely a dodgy operation!

Got a call from a woman who mumbled something I just couldn’t catch. I kept saying “sorry, what?” but after a bit of silence she just hung up on me. Since only a few close mates have my landline number, I’m pretty sure it's a scam. The number used to belong to someone else, and now I’m stuck dealing with all their unwanted calls.

Got a call on my home phone, which only a few close family members know. Didn’t pick up and decided to look it up here. Cheers folks, looks like it’s just a scammer.

I got a call from a woman with an Indian accent who said she was from Microsoft. She kept telling me to check my computer for an error message. I told her I was suspicious and asked if she was really calling from Reading, not somewhere like Mumbai or Delhi. She said yes, but honestly, I doubt it. Plus, I use a Chromebook, so I don’t think Microsoft would be involved in any error reports or anything like that. Felt like a classic scam to me.

Somebody rang claiming to be from Sky about my slow internet. They tried to get me to open my laptop then and there. I just told them I’d call Sky’s tech team myself and ended the call. Felt like they were fishing for my router’s password.

I received a rather dodgy call supposedly from Microsoft, where the bloke on the other end insisted that if I didn’t verify my personal information, he’d have to cancel my subscription. He even mentioned something about my account being accessed from Israel, which sounded rather fishy. I decided to hang up before the conversation went any further.

Claimed they were calling from Virgin regarding a discount on broadband services. The whole conversation felt quite rehearsed and staged, if I'm honest.
