I got a call from this number claiming to be from a financial security group. They said they wanted to assist me with some transactions from my bank account that they thought were suspicious or maybe scammed.

This number rang me earlier with an automated voice saying it was my bank. Supposedly, my card was used without permission twice, once locally and once overseas, for amounts of £1000 and £300. I didn’t respond or press any buttons, just stayed quiet and after a short pause, they ended the call. The area code seemed unfamiliar and it’s rare for me to get calls on my landline these days, so I instantly thought it was dodgy. Hopefully, others have figured out this is a scam too.

There was about a ten second pause with some shuffling noises before a strong accent came on saying, "Good day, this is Sky maintenance calling."

I quickly ended the call after that.

So I got a call from 02380391037 on 23rd April. The person on the other end was trying to pitch some sort of TV insurance, which I found a bit odd. Didn't really see the point so I just ended the call straight away.

Got calls two days in a row from a pretty much identical number. Just let it go to voicemail both times to avoid chatting. Ended up blocking the number.

I got a call from this number saying there were 2 big withdrawals from my bank account and asking me to press 1 if I approved them or 2 if I didn’t. I just ended the call straight away. This is definitely a scam, especially since I don’t even own the card they mentioned.

Got a call from a woman with a really strong Indian accent who said she was from the BT Tech Dept and wanted to talk about my internet. Suddenly she just cut me off. What a muppet!
