Absolutely enjoyed this experience! They pretended to be from O2 yet insisted on calling me NAME - clearly reading from a script perhaps a tad too rigorously 🙄. It's undoubtedly a scam. Just hang up and make sure to block them!

I received a call promoting a 30% discount on my O2 bill, but when I asked if it was a scam, the caller got incredibly rude. He told me to f*** off, called me a b****, and then abruptly ended the conversation. Quite shocking!

I received a call from someone claiming to be with O2, offering a 30% discount. However, as an employee of O2 myself, I can confirm that this promotion does not exist. When I probed further to find out which company he actually represented-presumably one of those third-party firms using an Indian call centre-he abruptly ended the conversation. Best steer clear of these calls! While the allure of a discount might seem tempting, you won't have a clue about who you're really dealing with or the specifics of their terms. There's even a chance they could attempt to persuade you to change your number!

Reckons they're from O2, proposing a tempting 30% off for half a year. I received a couple of texts (seemingly from O2) and then, rather cheekily, they requested my number at the close of the second text! It’s clear they’ve managed to glean some info from my account and are fishing for the code to dive deeper into my details. I firmly reminded them that the message explicitly advises against sharing one’s number with anyone, even those claiming to be O2 personnel. Labelled them as a scammer, to which they responded with a dismissive “whatever” before abruptly ending the call!

What a complete con! They’re masquerading as O2, and it’s terrifying how they’ve got hold of our information! This bloke knew my home address and email without me even mentioning it. I’m thoroughly spooked. I had a word with O2, and they enlightened me about these fraudsters. Apparently, they lure you in with the promise of a “complimentary” item, like some earbuds or a wireless charger. But before you know it, a phone arrives at your doorstep, ordered in your name. Then, they ring you up, claiming there's been a mix-up with the order and that someone will drop by to retrieve the ‘wrong’ item, assuring you they’ll send out the right one soon after. But once the dodgy delivery person takes back that phone, you’re left in the lurch, footing the bill for something you never intended to buy!

I really struggled to make out what the caller was saying; their accent was quite thick. I noticed the number started with 02, but I don’t even have an O2 mobile! They attempted to ring me three times in the span of just ten minutes. Quite relentless, if you ask me!

They started chatting, but then suddenly cut the call without any warning.

I mentioned to him that I wasn't keen on receiving unexpected phone calls, and that was the moment he hung up.

Recently, my sister, who’s feeling under the weather, received a call from this number claiming to be from O2. They insisted they had sent her a code and wanted her to provide it to them. Talk about a scam! Thankfully, she recalled the advice our older sister and I gave her, so she promptly hung up the phone and blocked the number. Quite a close escape that was!

I received a call from a number purporting to be O2, claiming they could offer me a 30% discount on my contracts for the next six months. I hung up out of caution and decided to ring back, but all I got was a continuous ringing with no response. It definitely lacked the usual automated greeting you'd expect from O2. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

Rumour has it that 02 is dishing out a generous 30% off for those who sign up for a new contract.
