This morning (21/2/17) I got a call from a lady who sounded Indian or Asian. Apparently, they had tried ringing yesterday too but I wasn’t in. She claimed to be from BT and said there was an issue with my internet. She told me to fix it by pressing 'ctrl+R'. When I asked how long it would take since I needed to get my daughter ready, she said she would call back. Then out of nowhere, she accused me of lying, saying, 'Why are you lying Madam?' and just hung up straight away!

This morning, around 7:50, my phone rang, and then again at 11:30. An Indian-accented woman claimed to be from BT, insisting that there were individuals misusing my broadband and instructed me to switch on my computer so she could assist me. I informed her that I had no idea of anyone using my connection and politely asked her to take my number off her list. That’s when she began to raise her voice at me, which I found quite amusing! Ultimately, I told her to scram and hung up the phone!

I've experienced the same annoyance myself-what on earth is BT thinking by not addressing this issue? People’s lives are being turned upside down by these nefarious characters! It’s only right that BT takes notice of these platforms and takes action against these crooks; failing to do so gives the impression they may be complicit in all of it.

I received two phone calls earlier today from a lady with an Indian accent claiming to be from Openreach. She insisted there was an issue with my computer. The thing is, I'm not even a BT customer! After the second call, I decided enough was enough and simply ended the conversation.

I've received a trio of calls over the past few days from a woman with a strong foreign accent. Initially, she attempted to pull a fast one claiming to be from BT, and then pivoted to posing as Microsoft Windows support. Seems like they’re just casting their net wide in hopes of catching someone off guard!

This particular number has been calling me consistently at precisely 10:30 for the last couple of mornings. Strangely enough, they’ve disconnected both times without saying a word.

This number keeps calling constantly, saying they’re with Microsoft or BT, and it’s getting really stressful for us. I’m finally thinking of getting one of those call blockers. Honestly, why isn’t the Government stepping up to deal with this? It’s happening so much these days. The OWL Watch team told me they get about 10 calls every day from folks fed up with these cold calls.

I received a call from this number earlier today, and since I’ve had similar calls in the past, I decided to have a bit of fun with it. When I picked up, I said, “Good day, you've reached BT Openreach, how may I assist you?” They promptly ended the call, which gave me a good chuckle!

I've just received a rather peculiar phone call from a lady who had quite a pronounced foreign accent. She claimed to be representing BT and insisted there were issues with my computer. When I inquired about her location, she mentioned Banbury Road in Oxford. However, I didn't pursue the conversation any further. She then asked, "Are you still there?" After my silence, she followed up with, "Are you still there, you silly woman," before abruptly hanging up. BT, while they can be infuriating at times, I sincerely doubt this was one of their calls. Very dodgy indeed!

I've been inundated with those irritating messages on my voicemail from this number, particularly this morning at about eight o'clock. I finally picked up, and a woman with a strong accent, who said she was representing BT OpenReach, started talking about some issues with my computer. I told her I was rather busy and promptly ended the call. There was at least one more attempt today, with the typical 'the other person has cleared' message left again. I've swiftly added this number to my list of blocked contacts.

I’m always being hassled!

Had an identical experience earlier today around half eleven. An Indian woman rang me, asserting she was from BT Openreach, claiming there had been alarming issues reported on my computer.

I had an encounter with a woman of Asian descent who claimed there was an issue with BT Openreach. She insisted I switch on my computer so she could connect with me online. It was quite evident that this was a scam attempt!

Just got a call from a woman with an Indian accent claiming she's from BT Openreach, talking rubbish about my computer. So obvious it’s a scam. When I called her out on it, she quickly lost interest and actually got annoyed that I was wasting her time before hanging up. Ridiculous! Really hope people who might not be so on the ball don’t fall for this nonsense.

Got a ring from this number bright and early around 8.30am. I’m always getting these random cold calls now, it’s gotten to the point where I just let the phone go to voicemail. Only two folks have my landline digits, including me, so I reckon these scammers must be picking up my number from some dodgy list.

Got a call early at 7:50am from an Asian guy who said he was Robert from Openreach about my internet. I told him I don’t use BT broadband and asked him not to ring me so early. He just said sorry and wished me a good day. Definitely feels like a scam to me.

Scam artist attempting to gain access to your computer pretending to represent BT.

They kept ringing my phone all day, from early morning around 8am until evening, about 7pm. I never picked up since I didn’t recognise the number and there was never any voicemail left. One time, I caught someone with an Asian accent just saying “hello” a few times before hanging up. Feels like a scam to me.

Today I got like 7 calls from them, but whenever I pick up, it's dead silence on the other end.

This number has called us thrice today, 2nd November 2017, but we chose not to pick up!

Received a call earlier today from someone claiming to be from BT BROADBAND, insisting that there was a significant issue with the broadband connection on my laptop.

I’m quite distressed at the moment as my husband suffers from Alzheimer’s, and it’s concerning that he picks up the phone when I’m not around. Is there something I could purchase to help manage these calls and keep him safe?

I received a rather peculiar phone call from this number at 09:38 this morning (9th February). A woman with an Indian twang claimed she was representing BT Openreach. She suggested that a nearby resident was somehow tapping into our internet connection, which could potentially wreak havoc on our computer's hard drive. She even mentioned it was a business line. I must admit, I was tempted to believe her initially, especially since my work computer's hard drive just packed in and we had a BT Openreach van lurking on our street yesterday. I informed her that we’re registered with the Telephone Preference Service and that I intended to report the number. She quickly apologised, claiming it must have been a mix-up! I’d like to report this but I know that TPS doesn’t handle fraudulent calls. Since I wasn’t duped, I’m a bit uncertain about whether I should register it as a scam attempt.

I received a rather dodgy call from a woman named Eileen who claimed to be representing Openreach. She was rambling on about my computer issues, but honestly, her approach felt quite shoddy and unprofessional. I decided it was best to hang up.

Earlier today at around 9:05 am, I received a rather peculiar phone call from a woman with an Indian accent, claiming to be from BT Broadband. She stated that I had been experiencing issues with my computer and broadband connectivity for the past couple of months. Quite odd, considering we’ve only had the service for just under a month! This raised my suspicions immensely. She insisted that I should sit in front of my computer, power it up, and provide her with the serial number, which would supposedly correspond with her records. If I didn’t comply, she ominously warned me that my line would be shut down in two hours! This all felt incredibly out of place, and her relentless shouting only added to my unease. When I pressed her for confirmation of her affiliation with BT and requested my name to be verified, she was unable to provide it and abruptly hung up! Quite the dodgy encounter!

I had a rather unsettling conversation with a woman claiming to be from BT Open Reach, introducing herself as Ali Jones. She warned me that hackers had compromised my router and could access every device connected to it. Naturally, I inquired if I could ring her back on an official BT number, to which she agreed but insisted I needed to request the server department specifically. Curiously, she mentioned that the number I had dialled wouldn’t connect me back directly. When I pressed her for the location of the router, she was unable to provide specifics, just stating it was in Oxford - which, as you can imagine, is quite a distance from my home in Yorkshire! She provided an address at 256 Banbury Road, Oxford. What raised my alarm bells was her insistence that I must sit at my computer to make some sort of change. I'm convinced this is a scam.

What a day it’s been on this fine Wednesday-I've already had three so-called “specially trained” sales folks knocking at my door in just a couple of hours! To top it off, I was subjected to the infamous hard sell; you know the type. They came barging in, trying to convince me that my double glazing is absolute rubbish, insisting that I simply must let them fleece me with yet another mandatory “well, we’re putting in new windows somewhere in the country” offer. Just another chance for an unwanted quote, I suppose!

This number appears to be fake.

I got a call from a woman with an Asian accent who said she was calling from BT. She started with "how are you today". I kindly asked her to stop calling this number and she just ended the call straight away.

Received a call at half past ten this morning from someone with an Indian accent claiming that my internet was infected with a virus. When I began to probe further, the line went dead abruptly. Curious, isn't it?

It was still early-around 8:20 am-so I had my suspicions about it being a scam. I told him I’d rather contact BT directly and promptly ended the call. Just didn’t sit right with me!

I've been receiving calls from this number every single day. In fact, I've had six calls today, each roughly half an hour apart. It's absolutely infuriating!

I've had this number ring me on three separate occasions in the past three days. Each time I pick up, there's some sort of background noise like a conversation happening, and then they abruptly disconnect. I've gone ahead and utilized the call-blocking feature on my Panasonic phone to deal with it.

I don’t always pick up when this number rings as it calls quite a bit, but it’s a bit tricky since we do get calls from hospitals and doctors too.

Got about 6 calls today, they’d ring and as soon as I answered they jus stopped and hung up right quick! So annoying!

My phone keeps buzzing almost every hour with this buzzing noise. Then someone says goodbye and just hangs up. It happens over and over and it’s really frustrating.

Got a call from someone saying they were from BT’s tech support about a “broadband issue.” When I said I’d ring them back, she told me to call BT’s actual tech team because they’d know who to get in touch with. Then she just hung up. Pretty sure it was a scam or just one of those random cold calls. Was quite shocked that 1471 actually gave me a number this time.

I've been getting loads of calls where there's nothing said, just silence and then some robot voice says goodbye. Quite annoying really.
