9 yearsToday I got a call saying my service was going to be cut off. Trouble was, my ears aren’t great right now so I could barely catch a thing. He kept talking about something to do with last week and a disconnection, but the bloke wasn’t English and his accent was really hard to understand. In the end, he just hung up on me.9 yearsThought it was Southampton general calling, but nope - these lot have rung me thrice now. The first time was a proper scam, said my internet'd be off for 3 hours unless they got into my main computer. I hung up straight away. Then they called again, I cut them off again. Today, my husband answered since he saw a Southampton number, then handed it to me. They repeated the same spiel, but this time I shouted "You got my blood test results, so am I being sued or what?" and then the call just dropped. Proper dodgy!General HospitalSouthampton9 yearsI chose not to pick up since I thought it was a scam, and turns out I guessed right!9 yearsGot a call from a lady with an Asian accent claiming BT broadband would be disconnected in just a couple of hours. I told her I wasn’t a BT customer and said I’d get in touch with my provider instead, giving her this number. When I asked her who she was representing, she refused to say.BT9 yearsGot a call from a woman whose accent was really hard to make out. She claimed to be from BT and said my internet was compromised. She kept being pushy, telling me to press ctrl plus some other key. Bloody scamsters, what a pain in the neck!BT Broadband9 yearsGot a call earlier today from a guy speaking with an Indian accent, telling me there were issues with my phone line and my internet was slow. He said he was from BT and knew about the problem. I told him everything seemed fine on my end and asked why BT hadn’t sorted it out themselves if there was a real fault. After that, he just cut the call.BT9 yearsSome guy with an American accent called me. He brought up the internet straight away, and I just told him to buzz off and not to call me anymore. We'll see if he keeps ringing.9 yearsGot a call this morning from a bloke with an Asian accent claiming he was from BT about my internet. Told him I wasn’t with BT and ended the call quick, before he could try anything else. I’ve blocked the number now. Seems like he’s been calling a lot this morning! I normally ignore unknown calls but this one seemed a bit genuine, though I reckon the 0234 code was a bit of a red flag.BT9 yearsGot a call from a guy claiming to be with BT, saying my router showed I'd been hacked. Thing is, my internet provider isn’t BT at all! Told him straight up he was trying to scam me, and he just hung up.BT9 yearsHad a bloke from India on the phone saying there was something wrong with my BT broadband. He called me a total of 3 times today. Kept telling me to stand near my router so he could guide me through fixing it. I told him no way, this was the second time we’d had calls like this, and unless he could prove he was really from BT, I wasn’t falling for it. If I had a problem, I’d ring BT myself because there’s loads of scams about. The guy got really rude and wouldn’t accept me saying no.IndiaBTKept9 yearsGot three calls today from a man claiming there was an issue with my BT broadband. He kept insisting I stand by my hub so he could guide me through some kind of calibration process. I told him I wasn’t falling for it because we’d already had similar calls before and asked him to prove he was actually from BT. I said if there was a real problem, I’d reach out to BT myself since there’s loads of scams around. He didn’t like that one bit, got quite rude and abusive, and just wouldn’t accept my refusal.BT9 yearsGot a call supposedly from BT saying there was an issue with my broadband.
