Totally awful experience. My partner got a call from someone claiming to be HMRC saying he needed to pay £5,000 or risk getting arrested. Considering he struggles with depression, it was really upsetting. We're so relieved we didn’t hand over any bank info. The whole thing felt so real, and we honestly thought we were quite careful about these things.

I received a ring from this number earlier today. It appeared to be a pre-recorded voice blaring some alarming news about a supposed warrant for my arrest. They urged me to press 1 or call a particular number, something along the lines of 020396202066, but to be honest, I wasn’t entirely sure I got it right as they rattled it off so fast. Naturally, I did neither and have since added the number to my block list.

Heads up everyone! I just received a dodgy call from someone purporting to be from HM Revenue and Customs. It was an automated message, very suspicious, urging me to press 1 if I wanted to be connected. The accent was rather foreign, which set off alarm bells. The caller ID was listed as unknown. This number rang me a couple of times and left voicemails claiming there was a warrant for my arrest, asking me to ring back 020332224337. It was pretty terrifying. I can’t imagine if I’d picked up, or if an older person had answered - that must be so upsetting. These scammers should be taken down for good.
