I got a call from 02284506863 and it went straight to a message saying there was some illegal stuff happening on my phone line. I’m pretty sure that’s not true. Then this robotic voice told me to press buttons on my phone. I didn’t bother and just ended the call. After that, I put the number into Google, figuring out that 0228 is one of those computer-generated numbers.

I got a call this morning around 9:50 from 02284304061 and it seemed a bit dodgy. As soon as the automated voice said something about £300 being charged to my credit card about 15 minutes ago and asked me to press 1 to verify, I just hung up. Sounds like the typical scam stuff to me. I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.

Got a call from 02284437464 with an automated voice saying £300 had been spent on my visa card, asking me to press 1 to confirm. I just hung up and blocked the number right away. Then I looked it up and found loads of others mentioning the same £300 figure. Honestly, the TPS isn’t doing much to stop these calls - they’re meant to protect people from scams like this but obviously don’t. No wonder so many older folks fall for it.

My mate got a call on his landline from 0228 4763268, saying £300 was taken from his VISA card. Then the person on the line started pushing him to press 1 or something. These coronavirus fraudsters really don’t quit, do they? Absolutely vile.

Got a bunch of calls from 02281313726, 02285759870, and 02283417859. Luckily, I have caller ID and just didn’t pick up most of them. Eventually, I answered one and it turned out to be some dodgy 'Visa' scam trying to freak me out. Hung up straight away. Didn’t bother with the rest and marked those numbers as risky. No way I’m falling for that stuff!

Got a call from a number starting 0028 claiming to be Visa's security team, saying there was a £300 charge to some firm called John Hopkins in China. Told them straight up they were scammers and ended the call.

Just like someone else said, I searched the full number 02281797809 and nothing suspicious showed up, just kinda meh. But when I only checked the 0228 bit, this conversation popped up. It’d be pretty handy if all these 0228 numbers people put in got linked together in one place here.
