The person on the other end of the line always starts their conversation by looking for someone called "Steve Legge". When I ask for their identity, they claim to be representatives from a debt recovery agency. Despite my repeated explanations that there is no Steve Legge associated with me or anyone I know, and despite me firmly telling them to stop bothering me, the calls persist. In response to this issue, I have recently lodged a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office at http://www.ico.org.uk/complaints. I strongly recommend that anyone else who is being harassed by this number does the same.

I receive calls every evening from an individual asking for someone who, to my knowledge, has never resided in my house. When I inform them that the person they are looking for is not present, their response lacks courtesy. The caller appears to be of foreign origin but has a good grasp of English. Despite being informed multiple times that the person they seek does not live here, the caller persists and contacts me again the next day, concealing their number. To avoid any further nuisance, I have decided not to answer calls from unrecognized numbers anymore. Instead, I simply press the button to end the call.

Please contact me continuously on both my home and mobile phone numbers. I suspect that they obtained my contact information when I applied for an online loan. They do not hesitate to call at any time of day and use various identities. One day, a gentleman called himself my 'Local Financial Advisor'. When I amusingly pointed out that he was not local (because of his terrible accent), he became aggressive and reprimanded me by saying, 'well, I am, alright?'. Tonight, he called again and informed my daughter, who answered the phone, that he was from the 'Citizen's Advice Bureau'. When I spoke on the phone with him, he suddenly became very friendly. I questioned him about his earlier claim to be from the CAB, and he immediately ended the call! I own a rape alarm, and the next time he calls, I will activate it at maximum volume directly into the receiver... If that doesn't discourage him, then nothing will!

Today, I have received five phone calls from the same number. Interestingly, each time they claimed to be from different companies. One of the callers today couldn't provide a satisfactory answer when I questioned them. Just five minutes ago, another call ended abruptly when I began asking them questions. It is clear to me that this is indeed a scam, as all the callers had different accents, like Brazilian and Filipino. Something fishy is definitely going on here!

According to the individuals on the other end, they claim to represent the Office of Fair Trading and have detailed information about companies planning to take legal action against me due to some outstanding unsecured debt. Their proficiency in the English language is quite poor, and they become rather agitated when I mention that I have no such debt before abruptly ending the call. I've taken the necessary steps to report this number, and I've also registered with the TPS (Telephone Preference Service) in hopes of reducing these unwanted calls, although the TPS cannot prevent overseas calls. As a precaution, I've had to pay £35 in order to potentially put an end to these irritating calls. It appears that this may indeed be a scam.
