This number has been ringing me quite a few times every day for the past few weeks. The guy on the line, who said his name was Sam and sounded Indian, claimed to be from Openreach and talked about my internet and router. When I told him I wasn’t interested and asked him to stop calling, he bluntly said he’s told to ring my number up to 10 times daily and would keep bugging me. I’ve reported it straight to the ICO.

I got a ring today from a bloke with an African accent claiming to be from BT. He said they were switching over my router and wanted me to do some checks on my laptop. When I said I’d ring back later because I wasn't sure, he said there was no point as he was on the line now and I wouldn’t get through again. I said I’m sure I could, and I’d double-check with BT first to make sure he was legit. That annoyed him and he suddenly got really rude before hanging up. I called BT afterwards and they told me they hadn’t contacted me at all. Seemed dodgy to me!

For a few weeks now, I've been getting calls nearly every day from a bloke with an Indian accent. Even after blocking the number, the phone keeps buzzing. Luckily, I have caller ID, so I just ignore it when I see that same number pop up. Once, when I actually answered, I told him I had an Openreach engineer at my place and asked if he wanted to talk to him. That seemed to scare him off, and he ended the call, but sure enough, he was back on the phone again the very next day.

Got a call from an Indian woman today, and on other times it’s been an Indian bloke claiming to be from Openreach. They always say something about the local exchange and that my internet is slow, then go on about my router’s lights blinking. I told them to send me something in writing because I couldn’t follow what they were saying. After that, they quickly ended the call. They sound really believable, and I’m worried my kids might fall for it if they answered. Does anyone know how to block these annoying calls?

I got a call from this number earlier today. It was a woman with a pronounced Indian accent claiming to be from BT Openreach, supposedly to enhance my broadband speed. She wanted me to connect my computer and mentioned that she’d provide a number to input. I had my suspicions it was a scam, so I declined her request.

Dodgy calls nonstop from this number and others like it. Occasionally I pick up and hear nothing, other times I just let it go to voicemail. Today I took a chance and answered, a guy with an Indian accent claimed he was calling from Openreach! I just acted confused and said we don't have anything like that around here. He hung up right away! If they carry on calling, I’ll keep messing around with them. I never entertain sales calls, I’m well aware of who supplies my phone and they never call up like this - there’s always proper security checks first.

Got a call from a woman with a foreign accent talking non-stop about BT Openreach and some supposed issues with my internet router. After she was done, I told her I was confused. She just started all over again, this time shouting. When she finished up, I told her I wasn't hard of hearing, but what confused me was why she'd called the police station trying to mess with their computers and that we were tracing the call. She went "oh!" and then just hung up. Proper funny that! Haha!

These calls keep coming through almost daily. I just tell them to piss off straight away. Honestly, BT needs to sort this out instead of sitting on their hands. It’s borderline harassment, maybe they turn a blind eye since they're making a bit of cash from it. And Ofgem? They’re not much help either, just a total waste of time.

Had about four calls from this number today, with the last one coming around noon. Told them it's their call, not mine, then just left the phone on and walked away. Just switched my phone off at 6:45pm. Fingers crossed it blocked at least one of their lines. I wouldn’t advise this if you’re expecting important calls, but everyone I know already has my number so it’s not an issue for me.

I keep getting these annoying calls all the time - seriously risky if you let them fiddle with your router. You probably realise there’s a ton of these numbers floating around, and if you block one, they just ring from another almost identical number. Honestly, BT or Openreach really need to step in and sort this out. What’s even more chilling is that a few of the scammers I chatted with seemed to have deep local knowledge, like knowing exactly where the exchange is and stuff, not just guessing from the number. Definitely stay alert!

Got two calls back-to-back over the last couple of mornings around 8 to 8:30. The first one was a call from someone claiming to be BT Openreach with the usual line fault talk, and today it was just dead silence on the other end. Seriously, when will the government or phone companies step in to sort this out? I’m lucky I’m not on shift work or in a vulnerable position, but it still feels like a breach of privacy. Honestly, if it wasn't for my elderly parents who only deal with our landline, I’d have just disconnected the house phones by now.

Just like all the other times, I told them their scam's so obvious they really ought to make it less dodgy. The worrying thing is, eventually, some poor old soul who trusts too much will get stung and lose their life savings. I wish the phone companies here would do more, either block these con artists outright or charge them a hefty fee for making calls. Failing that, the UK government should have a word with their Indian counterparts to shut this down, or maybe divert the aid money to another needy country that's more worthy.
