They said there'd been internet issues these last few weeks, but it seemed odd since we had four terminals running fine the whole time. Plus, there was loads of background noise which didn't help.

Got a call from an Asian chap claiming there was something wrong with my computer. I jokingly asked if he meant my imaginary laptop. He said yes, and that I had to turn it on. I played along, saying I was switching on my imaginary laptop. He then gave me some code to enter, which I pretended to type with lots of clicking noises. After that, I told him my invisible laptop seemed to be working fine. We chatted for a few more minutes, and when I mentioned “invisible” again, it finally dawned on him (took pretty long though). Needless to say, I’ve blocked the number now.

Received a call from this number on Friday, and I must admit, I was rather put off by it. I've previously had messages from a similar-sounding number - you know, the type where there's a call centre hum in the background? That kind of vibe really raised my suspicions, so I took the precaution of blocking it. Judging by the feedback I've seen here, it appears my instincts were spot on!

Got five calls from this number today, all claiming there’s an issue with my BT internet, but I don’t even have BT. They kept saying my network wasn’t secure. They were trying to get me to let them access my computer, and even when I told them I don’t own one, they kept pushing. Complete scam, don’t trust them.

In just two days they rang me about seven times, each time using that same old rubbish line about checking my internet or computer line for BT. I’ve already told them I reckon they’re up to no good and probably scams. They’re clearly dodgy and annoyingly persistent - be careful with these lot.

I received a call from this number, 0213459781, first thing yesterday and then again today. The caller claimed to be from the BT Technical Team, insinuating that my BT internet connection was somehow compromised. He insisted that I sit at my computer so he could guide me through the alleged issues. I firmly told him that if there were indeed any problems, I’d prefer BT to come in person rather than discuss such sensitive matters over the phone. When he rang me again today and I reiterated my previous stance, he abruptly hung up!

i finally picked up a call from this number today around 11:10 am, but honestly, they had already tried ringing me like 7 times yesterday! i’m really getting tired of all this repeated bothering.

This number kept ringing our home phone, saying they were from BT and there was an issue with our internet. Since we don’t use BT for either our phone or broadband, I called them out on it straight away. After that, they passed me over to another person who said he wanted to talk to me and insisted I had to listen. I just said I wasn’t interested and hung up.

I noticed that the number 0213459781 rang my phone a whopping six times just yesterday. This morning, I finally picked up, and the bloke on the other end claimed to be Dan from the BT Technical team. He went on to say my BT internet was at risk and had supposedly been hacked. I made it absolutely clear that I didn't want to hear from them again!

Got calls twice from a bloke who said he was with BT, claiming my internet was acting up. He wanted me to do some stuff on my PC, which I didn’t actually do but played along a bit. Kept asking about my keyboard keys, which was odd. In the end, I just told him I don’t even have internet and ended the call. Then a few hours later, he rang again, so I just ignored it. Definitely looks like a scam, so watch out!

I got a call from a bloke speaking with a heavy Asian accent claiming my internet was being hacked and that they could sort it, but only if I agreed straight away. He said he worked for BT, but something about it felt dodgy, I didn't think BT would behave like that. After I hung up, he rang back trying to persuade me again. I'm really thankful there was a way to look up this number and confirm it wasn't legit.

This sounds like one of those computer hacking scams, so definitely don't share any info or follow their instructions over the phone. If you're worried about your internet, the best thing to do is get in touch with your internet provider directly.

Like some of the others have mentioned, I got a call from someone saying they were from BT, saying there was a problem with my internet. The wording was nearly identical to those fake Microsoft tech support scams that have been going round for ages. Today around 1.30pm I got a call from a bloke speaking with an Indian accent claiming his name was David Williams. Right away, I felt something was off. I asked if he was ringing to warn me about my computer having issues, but got no reply. Then, I checked if it was coming from some Indian call centre, still silence. I even tried asking if it was a scam, but again, nothing. Didn't have much time, so I just hung up and later blocked the number. Could’ve kept him chatting, but no point really.
