They said there'd been internet issues these last few weeks, but it seemed odd since we had four terminals running fine the whole time. Plus, there was loads of background noise which didn't help.

Got a call from an Asian chap claiming there was something wrong with my computer. I jokingly asked if he meant my imaginary laptop. He said yes, and that I had to turn it on. I played along, saying I was switching on my imaginary laptop. He then gave me some code to enter, which I pretended to type with lots of clicking noises. After that, I told him my invisible laptop seemed to be working fine. We chatted for a few more minutes, and when I mentioned “invisible” again, it finally dawned on him (took pretty long though). Needless to say, I’ve blocked the number now.

So this number called me last Friday and I got a bit suspicious because it looked quite like some other numbers that have sent me messages before. I remember hearing some sort of call centre noise in the background when those calls came through, which felt off. Didn’t fancy dealing with it, so I just blocked the number straight away. Looks like from what folks are saying here, blocking was probably the smarter move.

Got five calls from this number today, all claiming there’s an issue with my BT internet, but I don’t even have BT. They kept saying my network wasn’t secure. They were trying to get me to let them access my computer, and even when I told them I don’t own one, they kept pushing. Complete scam, don’t trust them.

In just two days they rang me about seven times, each time using that same old rubbish line about checking my internet or computer line for BT. I’ve already told them I reckon they’re up to no good and probably scams. They’re clearly dodgy and annoyingly persistent - be careful with these lot.

Got two calls today, first from a guy with an Asian accent and then a woman. They said they were from BT and that there was an internet issue caused by my PC. I told them I’m aware BT wouldn’t actually call about that. After that, I just blocked the number.

The number 0213459781 rang me yesterday morning and gave me another ring today. The person claimed to be from BT’s tech team, saying there was an issue with my BT internet connection being hacked and wanted me at my computer so he could explain what was wrong. I told him if there was really a problem, I’d expect someone from BT to visit me in person rather than discussing internet security over the phone.
When he rang again today and I repeated what I said before, he just ended the call on me!

i finally picked up a call from this number today around 11:10 am, but honestly, they had already tried ringing me like 7 times yesterday! i’m really getting tired of all this repeated bothering.

This number kept ringing our home phone, saying they were from BT and there was an issue with our internet. Since we don’t use BT for either our phone or broadband, I called them out on it straight away. After that, they passed me over to another person who said he wanted to talk to me and insisted I had to listen. I just said I wasn’t interested and hung up.

Yesterday, I had this number 0213459781 ring me about six times. This morning I finally picked up, and the person on the line said he was Dan from the BT Technical team. He told me my BT internet had been hacked or something like that. I told him straight up to stop calling me again.

Got calls twice from a bloke who said he was with BT, claiming my internet was acting up. He wanted me to do some stuff on my PC, which I didn’t actually do but played along a bit. Kept asking about my keyboard keys, which was odd. In the end, I just told him I don’t even have internet and ended the call. Then a few hours later, he rang again, so I just ignored it. Definitely looks like a scam, so watch out!

I got a call from a bloke speaking with a heavy Asian accent claiming my internet was being hacked and that they could sort it, but only if I agreed straight away. He said he worked for BT, but something about it felt dodgy, I didn't think BT would behave like that. After I hung up, he rang back trying to persuade me again. I'm really thankful there was a way to look up this number and confirm it wasn't legit.

This sounds like one of those computer hacking scams, so definitely don't share any info or follow their instructions over the phone. If you're worried about your internet, the best thing to do is get in touch with your internet provider directly.

Like some of the others have mentioned, I got a call from someone saying they were from BT, saying there was a problem with my internet. The wording was nearly identical to those fake Microsoft tech support scams that have been going round for ages. When I tried calling back on 0213459781, it just said the number wasn't valid or something like that. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.
